Posted on 12 Feb 2010 by PCW WINNIPEG, MB - The most sought after title in the country may very well be the PCW Canadian Championship and the competition for the gold is set to explode at Thunderstruck on Thursday February 18th 2010 at Dylans On Pembina! Current champion "Average" Joe Dixon will defend against 2009's Canadian break out performer Mike Angels while former champion "Priceless" Chad Tatum battles Anderson Tyson Moore in a number one contenders match! ATM and Tatum have very different but equally convincing motivations driving them to succeed in their contest on Thursday. Tatum has had a long successful career and has made no effort to hide the fact he may not have many matches left. One of the most decorated wrestlers in Canadian wrestling history, he's one of only two Grand Slam Champions in PCW, having captured the Junior, Tag Team, Canadian and Heavyweight Championships over his career. A title-holder in every promotion he has appeared, Tatum has excelled in both tag team and singles competition and made history with a record-shattering 574 day reign as Canadian Champion. It was a bittersweet 2009 for the priceless one. Entering the year as the greatest Canadian Champion of all time, Tatum appeared poised to continue his successful reign. An outside-the-ring shoulder injury was only the beginning of his problems however. His willingness to defend the title against all comers put him right in the middle of a burgeoning feud between the two best big men in the business, "Outlaw" Adam Knight and "Average" Joe Dixon. Fighting through injury and adversity, Tatum retained his title and the promise of a positive 2009 seemed within his grasp. As his personal life reached new heights of happiness due to his upcoming wedding, Tatum was the victim of a heinous assault outside his home in Brandon, Mb. Left beaten and battered in a pool of blood on his drive way, discovered by his wife and young daughter, Tatum suffered a concussion, broken nose and orbital bone and required several stitches. Even more shocking than the attack was the identity of the assailant - Adam Knight. Consumed with cementing his legacy, Knight saw Tatum as having achieved something he never could and set out to destroy him. Tatum refused to take any time off or use his mounting injuries as an excuse. But the separated shoulder, concussions, broken bones and psychological warfare took their toll and Tatum was defeated by Knight for the PCW Canadian Champion when he refused to quit and lost consciousness. Since that time, Tatum has become healthy and driven to regain what he believes was stolen from him. At New Years Knockout he gained a measure of revenge against Scott Justice and Jay Walker, defeating their bodyguard "The Business" Johnny Falcon and preventing an unfair advantage in Scott's title shot against Joe Dixon. Following that match, Tatum handed Dixon the belt but made it clear he wanted it back. The champion brushed him off pointing out he had beaten him before and if he earned a shot, he'd beat him again but he had to go through ATM to regain contention. Tatum has stated several times he does not know how many matches he has left in his magnificent career, but in this emotional video, he reveals he has been contemplating his future by examining his past and has created a hit list of goals he wants to accomplish before he's finished. Angry and determined, Tatum made it clear he wants revenge on Knight, wants to defeat Dixon and wants his Canadian Championship back. But he may be over-looking one important obstacle - Anderson Tyson Moore. ATM may be the most well-rounded competitor in central Canada having learned from such notables as legendary promoter Tony Condello, Don "Cyrus" Callis, Robby Royce and Adam Knight. He's long been considered a blue-chip singles prospect and has demonstrated an expertise at tag team wrestling. The 2005 Rookie of the Year has a plethora of awards to his credit, including three straight tag team of the year awards, three straight most improved wrestler of the year awards and was voted most hated man in wrestling for 2008, including being nominated for several more awards for 2009. He dominated the tag ranks with Royce before their partnership and friendship was decimated at Season's Beatings when ATM, at the behest of their manager "The Illustrious" TJ Brooks, attacked Royce. At New Years Knockout, ATM looked comfortable taking the match to "King of Old School" Steve Corino before they, along with Knight and Brooks, formed a new more dastardly Alliance of Defiance. Many have speculated that 2010 could be ATM's year and the time has come for him to live up to his advanced billing as a singles superstar. Facing Chad Tatum at Thunderstruck with the winner earning a PCW Canadian Championship match at the Anniversary Show provides the opportunity to accomplish that goal. But with Tatum determined to reclaim all he lost, it could be a very uphill battle for the self-professed "Sultan of Sleaze".
