Not Such A Magical Raw
Posted on 10 Mar 2010

First off...Criss Angel has been one of the worst hosts ever. Nothing he did provided any use to the show. He just had useless cameos backstage doing magic tricks, the whole night! You're the boss for a night...do something for god's sake! That's all I'm going to say about him. Onto the rest of the show!

They started with Undertaker and HBK in a great promo. These two have one hell of a story that's been told over the course of 4 months now and the commentators aren't doing this thing justice and it's a damn shame! Too bad J.R.'s not around to really hype this thing up. You have HBK...the greatest performer in WWE history, a man who's been with the company since the 80's, who's won every championship, been in so many amazing moments, matches and is one of the best talkers. He's putting his CAREER up on the line. I'm just not getting that from the commentators. This is such a big deal and the fact that they added the Hardcore stipulation to this match I think will add to it so much but at the same time...doesn't make it any more important. However again, a great promo that makes me anticipate this match that much more.

Women's Tag Match: Kelly Kelly, Eve, Gail Kim vs. Maryse, Alicia Fox, Burchill

Thank god Burchill didn't get released as she has a unique look and from what I understand is a decent worker. A breath of fresh air to the division! This was a decent match actually for a Divas match. Too bad it's just another 6 women tag that leads to the champion being pinned but always beating the number one contender when the title's on the line. How many times has this "angle" been repeated over the last 6 years?

ShoMiz Vs. John Morrison/The Truth

I wasn't overly excited when Morrison/Truth won the match other than seeing more of Miz Vs. Morrison. I'm glad Miz is actually going to be at WrestleMania this year...I was just hoping it'd be a US title match. This brawl that broke out though put some heat on the tag match leading into Mania which I like. I'm sure it'll be a decent match, but nothing to get overly excited for.

Backstage interview with Cena...it was ok.

Legacy Vs. Orton: A slow match, this should been a little more fast-paced here to establish some more heat to whatever they're building to at Mania. I'm guessing next week they do something big where Orton breaks Cody's leg or something to get Dibiase Vs. Orton.

Backstage interview with Batista...it was ok too.

Then we get a long-winded Triple H and Sheamus promo to establish their match for WrestleMania. Triple H didn't quite bury him, but he didn't seem phased at all that he's facing a man who's beaten John Cena every chance he's gotten and a rookie who's dominated on Raw in match after match. Instead he's acting like he's the tougher guy out of this and Sheamus should be really scared about him because Sheamus is a nobody. Personally, I would've preferred that Triple H is a little worried after the beat down last week and make Triple H worried that he's gonna be in for a hell of a fight. I'm hoping we get some more brawling out of these two in the next couple weeks.

Evan Bourne Vs. William Regal...this was good and I wish they would've given us this match on ECW way back when and given it some time. But for what it was, it was a good match and glad to see Bourne going to WrestleMania this year in the MITB. Should be a good one with everyone involved.

Stone Cold is the guest host next week...hell yeah! That should boost some ratings.

John Cena Vs. Vince McMahon...was complete and utter crap. It didn't make sense, Mark Henry was the only interesting thing in this match which is a bad thing to say. This was brutal and did absolutely nothing other than establish that Batista beat up Cena again. It was a bad ending to Raw that didn't make me that much more excited for WrestleMania.

I guarantee that next week will be better with Austin as the guest host and mediating the contract signing of Bret/Vince. WrestleMania though...wow, it is a pretty stacked card and it's going to be a great night!
